Project Description

The subject of the sub-consultancy agreement with COWI was the provision of assistance in project management, negotiations with governmental authorities, and support throughout all phases of the removal of remnants of the destroyed Žeželj Bridge and Petrovaradin Bridge over the Danube River in Novi Sad.
The scope included additional investigations, detailed design, preparation of tender documentation, and construction phase support.

During the design phase, the specific tasks included:

preparation and development of graphical documentation,

collection of required data and supporting documentation,

preparation of reports on the existing conditions,

preparation of documentation required for obtaining permits for the project and construction works,

preparation of technical documentation and detailed methodologies for the removal works,

preparation of bills of quantities and cost estimates.

The Danube River Cleanup Project in Novi Sad consisted of five components:

Clearance of unexploded ordnance (UXO),

Removal of remnants of the Žeželj Bridge,

Removal of remnants of the Petrovaradin Bridge,

Removal of remnants of the Liberty Bridge,

Cleaning of the Danube riverbed.

(April 2002 – November 2002)

(April 2002 – April 2003, two contracts)

Danube Riverbed Cleanup Project

(October 2002 – April 2003)

Preparation of tender documentation, assistance during the contracting process, and construction supervision.
Contract Value: EUR 829,000

Other Activities

Assistance to the project manager and supervision for the unexploded ordnance clearance project.
Contract Value: EUR 1,965,000
